And above all, please be careful during your outings in our beautiful valley.
Méribel Code of Conduct - Winter 1959
- Don’t think you are alone on the slope.
- Respect the rules of good conduct:
- Do not stop behind a bump.
- Do not stop in the middle of the slope.
- Before stopping, don’t forget to take a quick look behind you; you never know who might be following.
- It is not necessary to use the entire width of the slope; once again, you are not alone.
- Do not ski too close to other skiers at full speed; keep a safe distance!
- Do not push people to access the ski lifts; you are not in the subway.
- If someone in front of you falls, stop to check if they are okay and possibly offer assistance.
- In the case of a serious fall, plant your skis or poles in a cross shape above the person involved and notify ski patrol.
- Do not ski in jeans; save them for the city.
- If you ski off-piste, equip yourself with the appropriate gear.
